Our highly skilled ortho-dentist offers not only the well-known braces but also see-through braces and invisible braces (braces hidden behind the teeth) for adults and children.
The orthodontic treatment consists of two phases.
In the first phase, the active phase, teeth and/or jaws are corrected by using fixed braces or removable appliances or a combination of both. The aim of ortho-dentist is to align your teeth and to neutralise any malocclusion.
Throughout your orthodontic treatment regular check ups will be carried out to keep up with your results and to adjust your braces if needed.
In phase two, the retention phase, we will try to maintain the achieved result, your straight teeth, with a night guard and a retention wire if possible.
Crowded, irregular, and protruding teeth can be a functional and/or an aesthetical problem.
Also important is that aligned teeth have a better chance to stay healthy since oral hygiene can be carried out more easily. Straight teeth can improve functional problems as biting, chewing and talking. Having a beautiful smile might also enlarge your self-esteem.
Orthodontic treatment can be done at any age, but the condition of your teeth and gums has to be good.
For young patients the best treatment period is between the age of 9 and 15 because this is the age that the growth of the jaws can still be influenced.
